This worsted-weight capelet blends all of my favorite elements of knitting: cabling and lace, ribbing and stockinette, all worked in the round in one piece. A quatrain is a type of poem with four lines of alternating rhyme scheme. There are lots of fours in this capelet - four lace patterns down the front, four cable raglan lines that form the base of the shaping, and more. The resulting top is cozy around the neck, shoulders, and upper arms, but not too constricting or heavy. Just right for crisp evenings reading poetry in the park!

Finished Size 513⁄4 (571⁄2, 64, 693⁄4, 761⁄4, 82, 881⁄2)“ hem circumference. To fit 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50, 54)” bust. Sample shown measures 30”.
Yarn Anzula For Better or Worsted (80% superwash merino, 20% cashmere, 10% polyamide; 200 yd 183m/4.06 oz 115 g): nimbus, 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6) skeins.
Needles Size 5 (3.75mm) and 7 (4.5mm): set of double-pointed (dpn) and 16” and 24” circular (cir). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions 1 marker (m) for end of rnd, 12 markers (m-a) to indicate cable increase sections, 2 markers (m-b) to indicate center cable; cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
Gauge 18 sts and 28 rnds = 4” in St st on smaller needle; 17 sts and 25 rounds = 4” in 2x2 ribbing, relaxed.
Notes Capelet is worked from the neck down. Short rows raise the back neck slightly. Shaping is worked along six spines in the body. Additional shaping, worked at the same time, is included in most sizes.
