This shawl was inspired by Exeter Quay, the popular meeting place for a noisy night out or a quiet stroll on a sunny Sunday morning. With some simple colour work the shawl comes to life. The solid striped sections represent the paths alongside the grey waters of the river Exe. Houndstooth stitches reflect the movement of the water.

A triangular 4ply shawl worked flat from one side to the other, using increases and decreases to form the shape. The design features intarsia crochet and stripes.
