SKILLS NEEDED

• The skill level needed is intermediate (but ambitious beginners are always encouraged to try!).
• The techniques you will need to know include: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, increase, invisible decrease, working in the back bar of the ch, half double crochet, double crochet, working in the front and back loop only, bobble stitch, the invisible join, and the adjustable (magic) ring.

• yarn in your choice of colors (about 250 yds/229 m of worsted/aran)
• a size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook
• stitch markers
• tapestry needle
• Dritz needle puller (optional)
• pins
• scissors
• stuffing
• chopstick to help stuff

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

• Using hook size E/4 (3.5 mm) and worsted yarn the Crochet Queen Bee Gnome measures approximately 10.5 inches (27 cm) from the tip of the toe to the top of the crown.
• Note: The miniature Queen Bee Gnome in the images was made using the same pattern with a 1.50 mm (steel 7) hook and size 10 crochet thread. It measures approximately 5.5 inches (14 cm) from the tip of the toe to the top of the crown.
