Quer-Streifen Mitts
This is a recipe for cuddly warm, fingerless mitts worked in twisted ribbing. The crossing ribs are created with an easy stitch that doesn’t require a cable needle. Promise!
The twisted ribs create a stretchy fabric which suits many hand sizes. Notes are included to adjust the pattern to shorter or larger hands.
Pictures show the mitts knit in DyeForYarn Merino/Babycamel fingering yarn held double.
********************************
The mitts are knit with yarn held double.
For the Merino/Babycamel yarn we recommend a 3mm (US2.5) needle is.
For the Merino/Silk and the BFL fingering yarn we recommend a 3.25mm (US3) needle.

Note on the original and now changed pattern name (from Quer-Denker to Quer-Streifen):
In the current Covid situation there’s a German movement called ‘Querdenker’ which is driven by right-wing propaganda and which opposes the very necessary and reasonable mandates like mask-wearing. As a scientist I’m not willing to tolerate such bs and have therefore changed the name to Quer-Streifen mitts.
