Rachel's Bobble Socks
Rachel’s Bobble Socks are worked from the cuff down using Magic Loop method but can easily be adapted for knitting with DPNs or short circular needles. Little bobbles are made with the help of a crochet hook.
Sock Sizes
1, 2, 3, (4, 5, 6) for foot circumference
7.5, 8, 8.5, (9, 9.5, 10)” / 19, 20, 21.6 (23, 24, 25.4) cm.
Skill level - intermediate.
Pattern requires following skills:
-German Twisted Cast-on
-Joining and knitting in the round on a circular needle (Magic Loop)
-Knit and Purl in the round
-Making a bobble with a crochet hook
-Decreases K2tog and SSK
-Picking up stitches for the gusset
-Kitchener Stitch
-Weaving in the ends
You will need fingering weight yarn (solid colors, self-striping or scrappy), approximately:
Size 1 - 69 g, 304 yds (278 m),
Size 2 - 75 g, 337 yds (308 m),
Size 3 - 80 g, 348 yds (318 m),
Size 4 - 85 g, 391 yds (358 m),
Size 5 - 95 g, 433 yds (396 m),
Size 6 - 105 g, 472.5 yds (432 m).
Gauge
9 sts/11 rounds per 1” (2.5 cm) in bobble rib pattern knitted in the round, and
8 sts/11 rounds per 1” (2.5 cm) in stockinette st knitted in the round with fingering weight yarn, after washing and blocking.
You may need to adjust the needle size to get the correct gauge.
