Radianza (Radiance) is a Summer lacy stole worked in a variation of a Japanese lace stitch, in a rich golden color. It’s a lightweight piece perfect foradding a touch of elegance to any outfit.
The lace stitch is not overly complicated (no WS patterning) and looks great both on RS and on WS, making this stole elegant but easy to wear.
Construction
The stole is worked from the center out to the final edges in two symmetrical parts, starting with a provisional CO.
In the beginning (center) the lace is made of columns of false cables only, then columns of easy lace are added between them, later on the lace becomes more and more busy in a crescendo of dynamic zigzag motifs creating the “radiance” that gives the name to this piece.
When the first half is done, stitches are picked up from the other side of the provisional CO and the second half is worked in the same way.
Each half is divided into 3 sections. The first one has a beginning part with just the mock cables, then continue with a “body” part that is made with mock cables and lace “lines” and only a repeat of the lace stitch, the second one has a body part that’s similar in length to the one of the first section, but without the beginning part and two repeats of the lace stitch, while the last one has a short body part and three repeats of the lace stitch.
