Radical Acceptance
To practice Radical Acceptance, one strives to fully acknowledge and embrace reality as it is, without judgement or resistance, especially in situations that are difficult or painful to accept. It is to let go of the need to control or change circumstances that cannot be altered, and to concentrate on those within our ability to affect.
The shawl is constructed using a modern hap style, with a center triangle worked up from the tip and bound off at the top. Stitches are picked up and worked around the edge. There are two modular areas that offset the center before moving it back. Stripes are worked throughout. The sample is shown in four colors, but the shawl could also be worked in two colors.
This shawl is 100% knitted, with the top triangle and two openwork sections using a knitting technique I developed to look like crocheted granny clusters. It’s fauxchet! There is a photo tutorial in the pattern, as well as several videos to help with the process.
