Raffia Pillbox
by Vicki Square
From the pattern: “Raffia is so valuable in the Congo that it’s been used as currency. My fiber is a paper “yarn” whose appearance is very close to African raffia. Done in celadon green, this elegant pillbox employs a subtle geometry in the diamond motif and the zigzag of the twisted stitches.“
Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circulars and double points.
Notions: Cable needle, tapestry needle
