This pattern stitch is formed by using knit and purl afghan stitches… do not attempt to make the coat until you have practiced the stitch, and are familiar with it.

Coats & Clark’s “Red Heart” Knitting Worsted, 4 ply, No. 410 Powder Blue: 42 (46, 50) ounces.
Afghan Hook Size J, 14-inch length.

Gauge:
15 sts = 4 inches; 7 rows = 2 inches.
