Rainbow Cake Wrap
Errata: repeat pattern on the body of wrap 6 times and not 7 as stated in the pattern.
Let this oh-so pretty filet crochet wrap whisper sweet nothings and persuade you into the pâtisserie. Carry it with you as a versatile extra layer; the fine drape of the graduated Whirl yarn means it will sit lightly on your shoulders. Fancy a stronger colourway? Take a look at the Clafoutis Shawl.

Pattern Notes
This is an intermediate level pattern.
Body of wrap is worked in filet crochet using Yarn A. Border is worked on long side and two short sides using Yarn B; turn after each row. If preferred, use 4 or 4.5mm hook to work Border to prevent pulling in. Surface ss are added to neaten transition between foundation row of Border and Body of wrap.
When working from chart, work odd-numbered rows from right to left and even-numbered rows from left to right.
Filet crochet is a mesh of sts, forming a squared grid. At each side of each square there is a tr.
Each open square has 2 chs between these tr, creating a square ch-sp (ch-2 sp).
For solid squares, work 2tr into those ch-sps.
Beg squares of each row are solid squares which are started iwth a cstr.
Body of wrap starts with fdc.
Row 1 of Crochet Chart: Filet Pattern is a WS row.
The written pattern and filet crochet chart for the Rainbow Cake Wrap appear in YARN Bookazine 17 - Patisserie, published by Scheepjes. YARN Bookazine is available in print in both UK English and Dutch language and is available from Scheepjes retailers.
