This beautiful cowl was inspired by the gorgeous colours of the rainbow and the rain as shown by the fairisle detail which looks like rainbow rain drops. This design is part of a collection of four patterns with the Rainbow Drops motif (which includes leg warmers, hand warmers, pullover, and cowl).

This is a great fairisle beginner project with the simple fair isle chart with no more than two different colours worked per round.

The cowl is knit in the round with 5mm (8US) circular (recommend 16” length) needles.

The blocked measurements of the cowl are height 10” (25.5cm) and width circumference 34” (86.5cm).

The sample is knit with worsted weight, Rios, Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool, worsted), 100 grams/192m (210 yards) per skein, skeins in:

• 1 skein Diana (886), 192m (210 yards), Contrast Colour (CC)
• 1 skein Fog (705), 192m (210 yards), Main Colour (MC)

The pattern includes a chart for the fair isle.
