Rainbow Fingerless Gloves
This is an excellent pattern for using up scrap yarn -- but, if you’re going to buy new yarn, I recommend using Cascade 220 worsted weight yarn for this project.
Why?
Cascade 220 comes in a spectacular rainbow of colors, so you can pick exactly the perfect color palette to suit your wardrobe needs.
I used the classic Cascade 220 yarn to make my project samples -- but if you want your mitts to be washable, you should consider using the superwash version instead.
You’ll use the Tunisian crochet technique for working this project. I recommend using a 6.0 mm afghan hook.. The stitch is a super simple variation of afghan stitch; I call it the Tunisian crochet mesh stitch.
This stitch pattern is my new favorite -- because it is FAST, easy to do, and really beautiful.
I’ve designed a whole bunch of other projects using the Tunisian crochet mesh stitch. This is one of the easiest projects in the bunch. However, there is an even easier dishcloth pattern available if you’d like to practice the solid-colored version of the stitch before you move onto making this colorful striped project.
I hope you’ll enjoy the free pattern.
Best wishes,
Amy
