The soothing process of working the colourful stitches of a mandala is amplified with this creative project. Vibrant lacy rounds radiate from a central colour wheel, resulting in a breathtaking sleeveless garment that hangs beautifully and is a joy to make.

The shawl is worked in the round as a large circle with the armholes positioned part way round the circle. The top part folds over to form a collar.

The length from the top of the shoulder to the lowest part of the shawl is 74cm. It measures 36cm across shoulders between the armholes, and 54cm across the bust line at the back between the armholes. The model in these images is a UK size 8 and given these measurements, the shawl will comfortably fit up to a UK size 14.

Finished diameter is 95cm (35.5 inches) (larger version update available at link below).

Gauge is not crucial for this project. Just make sure the diameter of the finished circle measures 95 cm before starting the border.

Buy both the adult and children’s waistcoat patterns for £5!
If you buy the adult pattern for £4.50, you can buy the child’s version for just 50p. This also applies if you have previously bought the adult pattern, as long as you use the same Ravelry account. Your discount will automatically be applied at checkout

You can also get an update to adapt it for UK sizes 16-22 and 24-26. This will require slightly more yardage (2640 yds.)

Yardage is based on using one skein of each color. You will have leftover yarn.
