Rainbow Party Scarf
This unique dye effect creates a small blip of color in a section of the skein. Try my purposeful color pooling pattern for a reversible effect!
Size
Width: 8 ¼” / 21 cm
Length: 66” / 168 cm

463 yards / 423 meters sock / fingering weight, self-pooling yarn**
You’ll want to choose a yarn that will do a pooling effect. This is usually a skein of yarn that has a small section of color.

Color:
Rainbow Party, 1 skein

- US Size 6 (4mm) knitting needle in just about any length you like
- tapestry needle
- scissors
Gauge
23 sts = 4” / 10 cm in patterning (see below) after blocking.
Notes
This pattern almost doesn’t have a “pattern”- meaning, you will work different stitches based on the color you are working with.
My scarf is working into a “zig zag” pattern, which was unexpected and fun! What will yours turn into?
I also made a youtube video on how to work this technique https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXcoclj9SQs&t=12s
