Rainbow Sprite Hat
This hat is a lovely textured piece that’s perfect for just about anyone in the family. Rainbow Sprite was originally crocheted up for a little girl who loved mermaids and unicorns, but it can be knit in a variety of colors to make it perfect for the entire family. Change out the faux fir bobble for a more traditional pom pom and this pattern is perfect for a more masculine guy, or leave the bobble off for a beanie instead. The options are endless!
I have written instructions for elementary school child sized up to adult sizes. The slip stitch rib makes this hat extra stretchy and accommodating for a large array of head sizes.
I used Red Heart Super Saver and Super Saver stripes for my hats because they had the colors I really wanted to use; however, you can make this hat as luxurious as you’d like using most any medium weight (4) yarn. Try this in a lovely merino. (make sure to gauge swatch your yarn)
You can find beautiful pom poms on Amazon or even make your own!
Have fun with this design! I know I have!
