Rainbow V-stitch Striped Blanket
Crochet V-stitch blanket pattern in colourful rainbow stripes – plus the fringe finish means no weaving in!
Quick and easy project – beginner-friendly with extra tutorials and stitch charts, in UK & US crochet terms.
Great stashbuster – turn any DK/Sport/Baby yarn into a fab gift for baby, mum, birthdays or Christmas.
KEY FEATURES:
• Simple stripe pattern creates a gorgeous rainbow effect with ease. I used the Scheepjes Stone Washed & River Washed Colour Pack of mini balls.
• Use any DK/Sport/Baby yarn from your stash – customise the colours to suit you by using my stripe planner to create your own colourful effect.
• I’ll explain how to finish the blanket with a simple fringe, which means no weaving in ends!
• Makes a wonderful present for a new baby, a special mum, a treasured friend, a big birthday or a magical Christmas.
• Pattern uses just US double crochet/UK trebles and chains – easy for beginners, quick for experts.
• Great first blanket project – once Row 1 is done, you can relax and just enjoy the colours.
• Simple instructions, plenty of photos and a stitch chart if you need it – perfect for happy crocheting!
• Includes handy guides to choosing alternative yarn and an optional tension check, so you know exactly what to do.
• Hassle-free pattern is given in UK crochet terms first and then US crochet terms, so you only need to read the section that’s relevant to you.
• A4 digital pdf download pattern is available instantly, forever, and is easy to print. Pattern support is available from the designer if you need it – feel free to ask me questions!
MORE INFORMATION:
• Finished blanket measures 90cm/35½in wide and 115cm/45¼in tall. Each row of the blanket measures approx 90cm/35½in wide x 1cm/½in tall.
• For this project, I used a pack of Scheepjes River Washed & Stone Washed mini balls (78% cotton, 22% acrylic; 10g/26m/28yds) in all 58 different shades from the two yarn ranges. Alternatively you can choose 12 balls of Scheepjes River Washed & Stone Washed from the 50g/130m range. Or you can use 13 balls of any Light DK/Sport/Baby/5ply yarn.
• You’ll also need a 4mm (UK 8, US G/6) hook and a tapestry needle.
DESIGNER INSPIRATION:
Becky Skuse says: “For me, there’s nothing better on a rainy day than curling up on the sofa with a board game and a colourful crochet throw… my stripy V-stitch blanket is just perfect! Each row uses a different colour so it’s a brilliant stashbuster. You can use any DK/Sport/Baby yarn, but I used a gorgeous pack of mini yarn balls from Scheepjes, which includes every shade of River Washed and Stone Washed. What a treat!”
