Pattern is written to use either a Fingering (#1) or a Light Worsted/DK (#3) yarn. The cowl uses the linked double treble stitch with an alternating colour technique.

The pattern is written in US crochet terms, but uses metric measurements. Video tutorials are included for the colourwork technique used.
