Raindrops and Rainbows is April’s Toesday’s sock design. Thinking about April Showers, and living in OR with gorgeous rainbows, I had to play with Raindrops and Rainbows. Alexandra the Art of Yarn Rainbow Skies yarn was ideal. The Rainbow pack of Yak Minis gives you more yarn than you need and you can easily opt for different colors than I used. And you would have enough yarn to make the socks out of the main color only.

The Rainbow motif is assigned pooling using K1 or K2 below techniques to create little arcs in the rainbow colors.

The socks are tops down. I used a short row heel but added a small gusset to allow the instep a little more room. Click here to watch a video on the mini gusset - this is for an afterthought heel but the gusset is the same.

I chose to work the mini skeins in the order of a rainbow and to work the two socks in opposite color directions - make your own lovely choices!
