Raindrops and Umbrellas Scarf
A light, lacey scarf with the option to place beads as you knit
RainCityKnits Fingering in the colourway Fried Egg, created a bright scarf that definitely helped chase away the winter blues.
Madeline Tosh Merino Light in the colourway Tart, created an intense scarf that was perfect for dressing up casual wear
This pattern is charted only
Suggested notions:
A circular needle, 29”-32” is suggested to accommodate the large number of stitches.
350 Size 6/0 or 8/0 beads are optional
Stitch markers and coiless pins
This scarf is easily adapted to a longer or shorter length, but not width. Simply add or subtract multiples of 20 stitches. This will require an adjustment in yardage.
This scarf starts with a large number of stitches cast on using the long tail method. To take away any guesswork for the tail, using a Russian join, connect the inside tail to the outside tail of your ball/cake. Cast on the required number of stitches. Then cut one end, depending whether you want to work from the inside or outside. Immediately tuck the end into the working yarn, think of it as half the Russian join. Easy-peasy and the end is already tucked :)
