The Raindrops on Waterlily hat features a simple cable design and texture throughout.
This pattern is written for three sizes ranging from child - adult large.
Yarn information is provided for two versions of this hat. Double stranded (as shown in sample) requires two strands of fingering weight yarn to be held together throughout.
Alternatively, you can use a single strand of dk weight yarn.

Sizes
Child: to fit 19-20”/ 49-51 cm head size
Adult small: to fit 21-22”/ 53-56 cm head size
Adult large: to fit 22-24”/ 56-61 cm head size
Intended to fit with 1-3” negative ease from actual head size.

Gauge Information
19 sts/ 29 rounds per 4”/ 10 cm in cable pattern (on size US 6/ 4 mm needle)
18 sts/ 31 rounds per 4” / 10 cm in 2x1 twisted rib (on size US 5/ 3.75 mm needle)
Yarn Requirements:
Fingering weight to hold double
240/ 280/ 320 yards (220/ 256/ 293 meters)
Single strand version (dk weight)
120/ 140/ 160 yards (110/ 129/ 147 meters)
Note: plan for a little extra yardage if you intend to make a pom pom
for the top of the hat.
Needles and Notions
Size US 5/ 3.75 mm needle or size needed for gauge
Size US 6/ 4 mm needle or size needed for gauge
Distinct beginning of round stitch marker
Additional 2/ 4/ 5 stitch markers
Cable needle
16” circular in both sizes, plus a longer length cord to work magic loop method for decreases OR US Size 6 double pointed needles dpns
