Who knew you’d need to knit a sweet little turtle toy? Well, now you can. It’s so fun to dress it up with the shell and other accessories!

The pattern is advanced-beginner to intermediate level. You will need to know how to work stockinette, ribbing and garter stitch, increase (m1), decrease (k2tog, ssk, and s2kp), yarn over, cast-on stitches at the end of a row, pick up stitches, sew seams, and work short rows made with decreases. There are many fun techniques in this pattern, so it could be a good chance to learn or practice new skills.

Turtle Materials: 50 g of worsted weight yarn in medium green (MC), 30 g of worsted weight yarn in dark or variegated green (CC), pair of 4 mm (US size 6) knitting needles, stuffing, pair of 10.5 mm safety eyes or buttons, 2 small buttons to match CC yarn, yarn to embroider face, tapestry needle, hand-sewing thread and needle.
Gauge: 5.5 sts and 8 rows per 2.5 cm (1”) in stockinette
Size: 22 cm (8½”) tall

Rain Hat and Boots Materials: 25 g of worsted weight yarn, pair of 4.5 mm (US size 7) knitting needles, tapestry needle
Gauge: 5 sts and 7 rows per 2.5 cm (1”) in stockinette
Size Rain Hat: 6.5 cm (2½“) deep
Size Boots: 4 cm (1½“) tall

Errata: When picking up stitches for the Shell Edging, you need to make them along Row 14 of the Shell (not Row 12, as the pattern states).
