Raji appeared as a young calf with three new buds, one on each side of his body and one on top of his head. In no time at all, these buds had transformed and Raji acquired an extra horn and two little wings above each front leg.
Raji was embarrassed by his newly acquired body parts. He did not like how he stood out from the other rhinos, nor did he appreciate all the attention that had been given to him.
One day, a wise old bluebird chirped melodiously and sat knowingly on Raji’s back. As the wise old bluebird knew, Raji had been sent by the gods to save the endangered white rhino population. Raji had been endowed with wings so that he could fly high above the earth’s surface to warn others about approaching dangers, as well as a unicorn horn with healing powers to aid the sick and injured. This knowledge passed on by the bluebird allowed Raji to embrace his differences and even feel proud that he was part rhinoceros and part mythical, magical unicorn. Raji was unique and special - Raji was a Rhinocorn!
