The Ralen scarf is worked entirely in double knitting, with openings placed at specific points so one end can be folded back and passed through to form a bow effect.

A video demonstration is included in the pattern for the double-knitting technique and how to hide the floats when changing colors in stripes.

Gauge / With 5.5 mm (US 9) needle:
18 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking. (This is provided for knitters to make a swatch and to use it as a guideline when selecting yarn)
33 sts x 19 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4” worked in double knitting.

Size:
1 (2, 3)

Finished measurements:
Width: 12 (13, 14) cm / 4.75 (5.25, 5.75)”

The length may be adjusted according to personal preference; my sample lengths are listed in the pattern.

Yarns:
CaMaRose SNEFNUG, 55% Aipaca, 35% Cotton, 10% Extra Fine Merino, 120 yards/110 meters/50 grams.

Since the stripe arrangement of this scarf is flexible, the length can also be adjusted freely.
Among my five samples, the yarn usage varies for each one.
For the smallest size and shortest version, at least one ball of yarn (110m/120yds) is required for each color.
Detailed yarn requirements for all five samples are provided in the pattern.

Needles:
Cast on using 4.5 mm (US 7) needles, then switch to 5.5 mm (US 9)needles to complete the scarf.

Other Materials:
Stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn.
