Hello! Thanks for your interest in the instructions to make my Rapunzel doll.

You will receive a full PDF pattern (11 pages) with clearly written instructions and photo guide, together with a printer-friendly version should you need to print. You can open both PDF files to view the written and photo instructions side by side.

If you have purchased one of my patterns before, DM me on Instagram or email for a 40% discount code.

Doll features:

  • This doll was inspired by the Rapunzel story, part of the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale collection and originally designed for my daughter who is very interested in dolls with long hair.
  • The doll can stand on her own
  • Little sewing – you only need to sew in the arms and hair plus optional crocheted eyes. Head to body (and dress) is one continuous piece
  • Versatile design – you can change the dress colours, length of the long hair strands to make your own version. The colours of my Rapunzel doll were picked by my daughter who is a big fan of all thing pink.

Materials that you will need:
• Yarn 1: Cotton/ Cotton blend DK for head & arms (5-10g), hair (35-40g)
• Yarn 2: Cotton/ Cotton blend fine or sport weight for bodice, petticoat and skirt (15 - 25 g)
• Yarn 3: Cotton lace yarn for crocheted eyes (2m)
• Crochet hook: 2.5 -3.0mm (smaller hook 1.75-2.0mm for eyes)
• Yarn needle
• Toy stuffing
• Safety eyes 6mm/8mm (if not using crocheted eyes)
• Stitch markers

Full details of the yarns I used are in the PDF. Generally, you don’t need more than half a ball of each yarn, except for the hair which may use up to 40g of DK yarn.

The doll is around 12-13 cm tall if using the same yarn I used.

Not sure of what colours to use to make this doll? Why don’t you head over to my Facebook page or Instagram to see other makers’ photos as examples?
