Ray of Light was originally published as the second annual Sannila Designs shawl knitalong! Now the pattern is out in all it’s glory, with familiar broken rib, a bit of short rows, welts and some flashy mosaic patterns. This one is an eye-catcher for sure!

Size:
One size, large.

Yarn:
Rva Silmusolmu Suomi Single Fingering (100 % Finnsheep wool, 205 m / 50 g) or other fingering weight yarn. Shown in colours Rusko (MC), Vehnä (CC1) and Savusauna (CC2).

3 skeins of MC, 2 skeins of both CC1 and CC2.

Yardage:
MC: 605 yards / 550 meters.
CC1: 350 yards / 315 meters.
CC2: 325 yards / 295 meters.

Needle:
3,5 mm (US 4) - 47” / 120 cm circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge to match each section of the shawl.

Gauge:
22 sts x 38 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm in 1x1 broken rib worked flat (after blocking).
25 sts x 40 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm in 1x1 broken rib worked flat (before blocking).

A difference in gauge may result in you needing more yarn.

Others:
a smaller circular needle (for example US 1½ / 2,5 mm), stitch markers, tapestry needle.
