Rayos Shawl
Often, I am asked, “How do you come up with these crazy ideas”? My usual reply is that I use the “what if” technique. While working on a project, once I arrive at that place when the pattern is in my fingers and I don’t have to concentrate on it anymore and can just knit, my mind begins to wonder and I begin to think, “What if I do this on the next project; or what if I do that?” Such is the case for the RAYOS SHAWL (Rays in Spanish). As I was working on a sample of my pattern, FANTASTIC which repeats an 8-row pattern of increases and short rows, I thought “what if” I were to increase the number of short rows to make the shawl fan out even more than the original design – like rays of the sun. Voila. It worked! Enjoy!
