This is a stylish riff on the classic Grandpa cardigan. It’s got a lot of shaping, but it’s all done using only one stitch: m1 (make one). Strategically places increases create every part of this sweater, from the yoke to the deep V-neck and even the collar. The cardigan is worked all in one piece--there’s no sewing or anything. It’s built by giving just a little more with every row, as if you’re growing the sweater.

If a sweater feels overly ambitious--it’s too big a project, it’s too hard--rethink that. It’s faster than you think, and easier, too. Most things are, once you sit down to try them.
