With a slightly cropped body and extra-long sleeves, Reality Bytes is channeling the 90’s in a big way—think grunge, Lisa Bonet, thrift stores, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, coffee shops and Doc Martens. This lightweight pullover is knit from worsted weight yarn at a very loose gauge, which gives it an open stitch and makes it ideal for layering.
It is the perfect first sweater pattern for a new knitter, or excellent TV knitting for knitters who may actually remember the 90s.
Sizing: 10 sizes, 32 (36, 40, 44, 48) (52, 56, 60, 64) 68”/ 81 (91.5, 101.5, 112, 122) (132, 142.5, 152.5, 162.5) 173 cm finished bust circumference.
Recommended 0-3”/0-8cm negative ease, measured from the fullest part of the bust.
Sample shown with 1” of negative ease.
Construction: Reality Bytes is seamless pullover, knit from the top down. There are optional short rows at the hem and sleeves are worked in the round from the underarm to the wrist.
Yarn: Any worsted or aran weight yarn. A yarn with multiple plies will hold up better at the loose gauge of this pattern.
Yardage: You’ll need approximately 550 (600, 725, 800, 925) (1050, 1150, 1270, 1390) 1500 yards, or 495 (525, 640, 730, 845) (960, 1050, 1160, 1270) 1370 meters in your chosen color.
Notions: darning needle, 4 stitch markers
Huge thank you to my wonderful test knitters!
