Red Cedar features alternating colorwork motifs in differing contrast colors gradually building to an impactful star motif. The increases are worked in the plain knit rounds between the colorwork to help make Red Cedar simple and enjoyable knit. The easier of the two colorwork sweaters in this book, Red Cedar is a good option for a relaxing knit or a first colorwork sweater for an adventurous knitter.

Red Cedar is knit seamlessly in the round from the top down. Short rows shape the back neck for an amazing fit.

Any leftover yarn from your Red Cedar sweater can be used to knit the Juniper Hat or the Alder mittens. These three patterns coordinate with each other beautifully. The Juniper Cowl, which you can find in Woodland Ramble or as an individual pattern on my website and Ravelry, uses the same yarn and completes the set.
