This design is a modern take on the classic shawl and is knit from end to end. The blunt ends and simple texture make it suitable for any gender. To keep things interesting, there is a colour block section that is offset from the center. The generous finished size ensures a cozy and warm addition to any wardrobe. Fold it in half, tuck the ends through the loop and your shawl is styled and ready for any destination.

Needles & Notions
US8 / 5mm 18” circular needles; or size to obtain gauge, stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Yarn Requirements
This pattern uses two full skeins of DK weight yarn and five mini skeins of fingering weight yarn. The fingering weight yarn is held double, but don’t feel limited by only mini skeins! This is also a perfect scrap-busting project. You can also substitute the fingering weight yarns held together for a single skein of DK weight yarn for the colour block section.

These are the yarns used in the sample.
Main Colour (MC): Madelinetosh Tosh DK in Mars Rover; 2 skeins, 207 g, 406 yds,371 m.
Colour 1 (C1): Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails in Joshua Tree; 1 skein.
C2: Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails in Pink Mist Smoke; 1 skein.
C3: Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails in Filtered Daydreams; 1 skein.
C4: Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails in Glazed Pecan; 1 skein.
C5: Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails in Toasted Sugar; 1 skein.

Finished Measurements
Finished shawl is 80” / 203 cm across the top edge and 17.5” / 44 cm deep at the center.

Gauge

• The colour block section is worked holding two strands of fingering weight yarn together.
