Refraction mimics the separate of light into different wavelengths (colors) when it goes through a crystal or water. The clear and pure colors of the yarn capture this is a warm blanket worked in a carefree washable acrylic.

There are two methods for making the blanket. The first, shown in the photos is to make four intarsia strips and sewn them together. The second method uses modular construction with mitered squares. The colored pieces are then joined with the shapes of the crosses finishing with a square worked in the round.

This is great project for leftover yarns. Each colored piece can be worked in a different group of colors.

The pattern includes full written instructions, and step-by-step construction illustrations. Links are provided to a coloring page and optional charts, and video tutorials for techniques.
