Regency House Slippers
These slippers, modeled after dancing slippers, bring Regency style into the twenty-first century. Wear them around the house as graceful slippers, and be sure to add a leather or suede sole for safety on hard floors.
Finished Size 8 (9, 10¼)“ foot circumference and 9¾ (11, 12)” long. Slippers shown measure 9”.
Yarn Ístex Álafoss Lopi (100% wool; 109 yd 100 m/3½ oz 100 g): #0051 white, 2 skeins. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.
Needles Size 10½ (6.5 mm): straight and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle; 3 yd ½ “ double-fold bias tape; matching sewing thread; sewing needle; two 1½ “ buttons (shown: glass buttons from www.dollypalmerglass.com).
Gauge 14 sts and 16 rows = 4” in St st, before felting.
