Reggia Cowl and Beret
Reggia (English: palace) is a decorative yet simple construction, which works lovely with handdyed yarns featuring the unique color-combinations with rythmical lace elements.
I wanted to create a pattern for those one-skein-per-dyelot wonders, so the cowl uses up less than 300 yards, knitted in the round from the buttom up. Or top down? – It depends on how you are wearing it :)
The simple lace pattern used for the Reggia cowl called me to create a matching delicate hat. Being a beret-fanatic designing a slightly slouchy beret was the natural choice.
Materials:
- beret: 114-169 meters/125-185 yards DK weight yarn (gauge: 21 sts by 28 rows)
- cowl: 260 meters/285 yards DK weight yarn (it works with other weight too, the patterns includes yardage informations for resizing)
Finished size (after blocking):
- beret: 25 cm / 10” diameter at the top and 48 cm / 19” circumference at the headband
- cowl: 60 cm / 24” circumference and 30 cm / 12” length
