In the artistic rebirth of the fifteenth century, fabulously textured clothing is depicted in nearly every painting. This simple pullover pays homage to the heavier texture of the coarsely woven peasant shirts of the time. Knitted at a fine gauge with a blend of rayon, cotton, and linen, this version is shaped and lightweight and features a wide and somewhat square neckline that is the perfect foil for a bit of impromptu fancy: Fair Isle checks embellished with French knots and flanked by garter-stitch stripes. Jewelry is optional. (Interweave)
