Renton mittens
Renton mittens are worked in the round, bottom up, with increases for the thumb and decreases to shape the top. The cuff is worked in 1x1 rib and the rest of the hand in stranded knitting according to charts. The mittens are adult size S/M and comes in two lengths.
YARN
Järbo Swedish Wool 3ply (180 m ≈ 196 yds. / 100 g), 2 colours.
SIZES
approx. adult S/M, short-(long), see schematic in the photos to the left.
YARN AMOUNT
Colour 1 (Rhubarb Lemonade): approx. 40-(50) g ≈ 75-(90) m ≈ 85-(100) yds.
Colour 2 (Bauer Green / Inlandsbanan Green / Loghouse brown): approx. 35-(45) g ≈ 65-(85) m ≈ 75-(95) yds.
ALTERNATIVE YARN
Ullcentrum 3ply or other rustic wool yarn in worsted weight.
GAUGE
25 sts x 26 rnds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” with 3,5 mm (US 4) needles over stranded knitting, after blocking.
NEEDLES
3 + 3,5 mm (US 3 + 4) DPN’s (or circular needles at least 80 cm / 32” for Magic loop).
TECHNIQUES
