Restgarnskoftan is the adult version of the scrap yarn cardigan förskolekoftan. It’s a warm and cozy cardigan which is perfect to use up small left overs and single skeins. You can choose to knit a more calm version in similar colors, or go all in and simply let your stash yarns decide. You can knit with a fade or why not with cuffs in different colors? Dig into your stash and let it decide!

The cardigan is knitted in one thread of DK held together with one thread of thin mohair, you can also use double thread of fingering instead of DK. Mix and match what you have in your stash!

The cardigan is knitted from the bottom and up, sleeves knitted separately and thereafter joined together with the body and the yoke is decreased in raglan. You will thereafter knit the closure and sew and cut the steek. If you would rather make a sweater you will just skip the steek stitches and knit in the round from the beginning. If you prefer a crochet steek I recommend you to use pure non-superwash wool, except for the mohair.

I recommend that you choose a width with 10-20 cm of positive ease since this cardigan is meant to be oversized.

Yarn and Yarn amount
this cardigan is made using scrap yarns. You can mix whatever you have in your stash that meets the gauge, but one thread of DK with one thread of thin mohair is what I’ve used. I’ve also made a version with double thread of Nutiden if that’s what you’d rather use.

2: 550 grams DK+ 120 grams mohair
