Results Results
Results results is a super chunky scarf/wrap done in Tunisian crochet. It’s a fun and really quick project, hence the name! Using an oversized hook is such fun. The Knitting Iceland jumbo hook comes with a flexible cord that makes even working in the round possible. Jumbo hooks handcrafted in Iceland, suitable for working flat or in the round, are available in Knitting Iceland’s web store.
Size: one for all, make it as long and wide as you like
Measurements: shown here: 20cm/8” X 2.85m/9’4”
Materials: Plötulopi, Icelandic un spun Lopi, 100% wool, wheels approx. 110g/3.9oz. The size shown calls for 470g.
Tunisian crochet hook 18-20mm/0.7-0.8” in diameter
Gauge: Not really important… but for the scarf shown it’s 6 stitches x 3.5 rows = 10×10cm / 4×4”
About the techniques:
The scarf is worked back and forth in Tunisian simple stitch (TSS) and Tunisian purl stitch (TPS) forming a beautiful honeycomb-like texture.
Remember that each row in Tunisian crochet consists of picking up all the stitches and casting off all the stitches. The last stitch of each row is always worked in TSS.
The last (far left) stitch of each row is picked up by bringing the hook under two of the three vertical strands at the edge.
When you start casting off (second half of each row) remember to pull the yarn through the first loop and then pull the yarn through two loops together working your way to the right edge, until only one loop remains on the hook. That loop will be the first stitch of your next row.
Use Lopi in different colors and play with gradients by changing one strand at a time.
The pattern is available in English and Icelandic.
Enjoy this fun project!
