Reticule
“Some fifteen years ago, I purchased a reticule and was taken by its cleverness. It’s worked continuously from beginning to end without a break. It doesn’t open until you open it, so the contents are secure. Unable to find a pattern, I decided to design my own. After several attempts and modifications, especially to the design around the opening, this is the result. The lining keeps smaller items from slipping between the spaces between stitches. It makes a great gift, as it can be used to carry change, keys, lipstick, or a small music-player and earbuds. It’s also a lovely way to present a small gift, such as jewelry.
The reticule can be made with single crochet instead of half-double crochet and double crochet. The result is a reticule without the little spaces, so it can be used without a lining. It would be great for storing a few pieces of jewelry when traveling. You can dress up the reticule by embellishing with beads. Enjoy!“
