Hook yourself a hat for all seasons with my retro baker boy crochet hat!
This crochet baker boy hat with peak fits average ladies head (approx 54-60cm/ 21-23.5in head circumference).
Designed for confident beginners, the pattern uses simple increasing and decreasing techniques in single crochet (UK double crochet). A4 pattern includes instructions in UK crochet terms and US crochet terms separately.

To make this hat, you will also need:
• Any aran-weight yarn. I used Rowan Summer Tweed (70% silk, 30% cotton; 50g/120m), 2 skeins of 514 (Reed).
• A 6mm (US J/10) hook for the main body of the hat and a 5mm (US H/8) hook for the peak.
• Piece of cardboard or thin plastic

The yarn I used works as aran to this tension: 12 double crochet (US single crochet) sts and 13 rows to 10cm (4in) square using 6mm hook.
Finished hat measures 57cm/22.5in in circumference (fits average woman’s head).

Becky Skuse says: “My stylish baker boy hat is handy all year round and can be made in almost any yarn. The simple pattern is quick to work so you could make as many as you like! I used an aran-weight yarn made of silk and cotton, which makes it great for all seasons. I originally made it for summer, to keep the sun out of my eyes without making me hot. But it’s surprisingly cosy on cloudy days, too. I plan to make another version in a warmer yarn for deep winter days.”
