It has been a tumultuous year with overwhelming news stream that is as difficult to absorb as it is to disconnect from. To balance this in a small way, we’d like to offer something simple, beautiful and heartwarming for you to knit and share this season.

Our ReTweed cowl is crafted with a straightforward slipped stitch pattern made more sophisticated by alternating three colors. This snug fitting unisex cowl will comfortably fit under a winter jacket, and can easily be modified to a different circumference (or gauge) to fit your preference.

You’ll use approximately 70 yards of each of your contrasting colors to make a cowl with the specified measurements. This means you’ll have sufficient yardage to make two, and gift one to someone you love!

We’ve created a handful of Project Kits in seasonal color combinations that we hope will inspire you. While our pattern is FREE for you to use and share, (and perfect to help you use up your stash); purchasing one of our seasonal kits will give you a digital copy of our FREE pattern and three skeins of our delicious worsted weight Mountain Mohair yarn. This will provide you with sufficient yardage to make two cowls, or a larger version with dimensions of your choosing.

Best of all, for every purchase of one of our kits before December 31st, 2020, the Spinnery to make a $5 donation to our local food pantry, The Putney Food Shelf, which provides meals for children and groceries for 100 families in our community.

We hope with this offering we are able to express our gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received from the fiber community this year; and make our community a bit stronger by knitting us all together.
