From the pattern:
This denim hat feels comforting as an old pair of jeans. I knitted a denim sweater many years ago, and wear and wash it constantly. It just gets better every time. I like the idea of a reversible denim hat, and I wanted each side somehow to be opposite of the other. I also wanted to be able to see through one side to the other. So, I came up with these dots, which are actually holes knitted into the fabric. The wide cuff shows off the alernate side whichever way it is worn. The entire hat just feels good through and through.

This pattern is made up of two separate hats, one striped and one dotted, that are then attached.
