Revisiting French Mariniere Mitts
The striped top is an iconic element of French fashion. I kept in mind some of its characteristics: colors, white-stripe height being twice the blue, and used a French yarn. But I wanted to play with stripes, to have opposing lines going in perpendicular directions and soften it with a diagonal seam. My purpose was also to smoothly integrate the thumb and the cuff and give the feeling that the hand rises from it.
