This pullover is knit seamlessly from the top down with simultaneously knit set-in sleeves in a method inspired by Barbara Walker in her book Knitting from the Top. Stretchy ribbing makes it form-fitting and the waist is nipped in by a round of cable crosses. The cable crossings can be omitted if you prefer.
The sweater shown is being worn with about 3 inches of negative ease. Sizes given include 1 to 3.5 inches of negative ease. Because of the stretch of the ribbing, positive ease is not recommended.
To maintain the stitch pattern and still provide a full range of sizes, two different stitch gauges are used. Sizes XXS, S, M2, and L use a stockinette gauge of 20 stitches/4”, while sizes XS, M1, M3, and XL use a stockinette gauge of 19 stitches/4”. I couldn’t enter both in the gauge field, so I used the average!
