Rhombus Plaid Slouchy Hat
This is a crochet pattern for an adult sized hat. The pattern is crocheted in the round. The design includes only two colors, and works up quickly since the pattern uses worsted weight yarn. It features a post stitch ribbing and an easy to memorize pattern repeat that uses only a few types of stitches. The finished item will fit adults and older children, and looks great with or without the optional pompom. The patterns for a matching cowl and wristers are available in my shop!
Sizing:
The finished size should be approximately 10.5” wide (21” around) by 9.5” tall. (Slightly smaller if you make the less slouchy variation)
Gauge:
12.5 sts and 14 rows = 4 inches in single crochet (with I/9 hook).
Materials:
- One skein of Red Heart With Love in Color A (example is shown in Boysenberry, if substituting yarn you will need 132 yards of worsted weight (CYC-4) yarn)
- One skein of Red Heart With Love in Color B (example is shown in Tan, if substituting yarn you will need 42 yards of worsted weight (CYC-4) yarn)
- Size I/9 (5.50 mm) crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- Size H/8 (5.00 mm) crochet hook
