ABOUT THE PATTERN
The Ria Sweater combines a cabled round yoke with complementary textured edging on the body and sleeves for a chic finished sweater. Ria is worked top-down with simple stockinette between top and bottom cable panels. Written in 7 sizes with shaping and positive ease for a relaxed fit. Cables written and charted.

Named Ria from the Spanish word meaning “from the river’s mouth” because the cables evoke both the gentle flow of water and the Southwest petroglyphs that represent a river. This sweater was originally published in Love of Knitting magazine. The rights have released back to me so I’m now free to completely rework the pattern and publish it!

Finished Chest Measurements: 33 (36, 39, 42, 45, 49, 52)” (84 (91.5, 99, 106.5, 114, 124.5, 132) cm)
To Fit Chest Measurements: 30 (33, 36, 39, 42, 46, 49)” (76 (84, 91.5, 99, 106.5, 117, 124.5) cm)
Length: 25 (26, 26, 26, 27, 27, 28)” (63.5 (66, 66, 66, 68.5, 68.5, 71) cm) (easily adjustable)

MATERIALS
Yarn: 1100 (1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700) yds (1000 (1100, 1190, 1280, 1370, 1470, 1560) m) Worsted weight
Sample is a Size S and used 530 g or just under 1160 yards of Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted in the color 137 Oxygen.
Needles: US size 7 (4.50 mm) circular needle and dpns (or size needed to get gauge), US size 5 (3.75 mm) dpns for neck ribbing
Notions: 8 (8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 10) stitch markers (one unique), dpn or cn for cables, tapestry needle, 2 stitch holders or scrap yarn

GAUGE
20 sts and 24 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in St st on larger needles after blocking
