This lacy headband is a sweet accessory for almost any time of year. It uses only a small amount of yarn and can be made to match almost any outfit!

Materials Needed:
4mm (G) hook, or hook needed to obtain gauge
65, 75, 85 yards Red Heart Super Saver in “Buff”, or color of your choice
(Optional) flower accessory
Sewing needle
Thread
Yarn needle
Scissors
Stitch markers (optional)

Stitches Used:
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet

Additional Terms:
Working in the 3rd loop of an hdc: Look at the top of the stitch, and locate the sideways “V”, bend the stitch to look at the back, and you should see another “V” made by the “yarn over”. You’ll be working into the back loop of that “V”, this is the yarn over and is called the 3rd loop.
BLO = back loop only
st/sts = stitch/stitches
sp/sps = space/spaces
prev = previous

Gauge:
15 hdc stitches in 4”

Measurements:
Child: 9” long x 3 ½” wide. (19”-20” head circumference)
Small/Medium Adult: 10” long x 4” wide. (21”-22” head circumference)
Large/X-Large Adult: 11” long x 4” wide. (23”-24” head circumference)

Additional Notes:
-ch-1 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch.
-For the body of the headband sl sts are counted as stitches except for the one you use to join each round. That is not counted as a stitch.
-Each round will be started in the same stitch as join. This is to make sure the pattern does not skew as much diagonally (it will skew some).
-Stitch counts, especially as you are working the slip stitches across the back of the headband are very important to keep track of. A stitch marker at the beginning and end of the back section will be very helpful in keeping on top of stitch counts.
