The Ridge Road Hat is a beginner-friendly knit cap, using only a few basic stitches. Knitters will need to know how to cast on, knit in the round, purl, and k2tog to complete this hat. I was inspired to create this design when I saw one of the beautiful knit hats in the TV series Blue Bloods, but I knew I wanted to tweak the pattern so that the ridges in the hat body would flow into the ribbed brim. Berroco Ultra Alpaca creates a warm fabric with a lovely halo, but virtually any worsted weight yarn will look nice with this simple pattern. The adult sized sample used only 52g of yarn, so one skein could easily make a mommy and me set of hats. The hat has plenty of stretch, so this design will fit most heads. Suggestions are given for modifying the fit for a toddler or child.
