Intended to be worn with 3-6 ½ inches / 7.5-16.5 cm of positive ease with less positive ease suggested for larger sizes. The shape and construction of this vest creates more of a poncho-style slipover with deep armholes and shaped shoulders.
Shown in size 2 with 3 ” / 7.5 cm of positive ease at chest.

MATERIALS
Yarn: DK weight yarn in the approx. amount: 700 (800, 930, 1055, 1180, 1290, 1400) yds / 640 (732, 850, 965, 1080, 1180, 1280) m

Shown in: Jamieson’s of Shetland Double Knitting (100% Shetland wool, 82 yds / 75 m per 25g) in shade Titanic
9 (10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18) balls

A woolen spun yarn is recommended for similar results.

Needles:
US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needle, 32” / 60 cm and 40” / 100 cm length (ribbing needle)
US 8 / 5 mm circular needle, 16” / 40 cm and 32” / 80 cm length (main needle)
Finishing (for Three Needle Bind Off): 1 spare US 7 / 4.5mm circular needle, 32” / 60 cm length for TNBO at center front and back, 1 spare US 8 / 5mm circular needle, 32” / 80 cm length for TNBO at shoulders and 1 US 9 / 5.5mm circular needle any length for TNBO at shoulders.

PATTERN NOTES

This vest is worked entirely in garter stitch in four separate segments and then joined together with Three Needle Bind Offs. The back and front are identical. The garter stitch ridges will sit vertically when worn.
