Rikke Bloom Mohair Sweater

Rikke Bloom Mohair Sweater is a mohair version of Rikke Bloom Sweater – an eye–catching sweater featuring a distinctive color pattern where the contrast colors stand out clearly against a soft and vibrant background color.

In this version, the background color is worked using three strands of silk mohair (Önling No 10) held together throughout the entire piece. The background color is worked as a fade, where you replace one of the three strands at a time so the colors blend naturally into one another without abrupt changes. The contrast color is worked with one strand throughout, using either Önling No 1 or Önling No 3. This creates a delicate contrast to the airy mohair base and highlights the pattern in an elegant way.

The pattern includes detailed instructions for color changes in both the background colors og the pattern colors.

The sweater has a roomy fit with 20–30 cm / 8–12 inches of positive ease, giving it a relaxed and feminine look. Choose your size based on the fit you prefer.

Rikke Bloom Mohair Sweater combines the Rikke-series’ characteristic simplicity with a vibrant and colorful pattern. The light mohair gives the sweater an exclusive, airy feel, while the design balances the timeless with a modern, playful expression. Find the entire Rikke-series here.

Procedure
The entire sweater is worked in color pattern. Begin with the back, which is first worked back and forth with short rows at the neck to shape the shoulders. Then pick up and knit stitches along the left shoulder and shape the front on that side. Next do the same on the right front, just mirrored, and when the neckline shaping is finished, cast on stitches at center front. Join the work to work in the round in color pattern for the remainder of the body. Finish with a rib edge. The neckband is worked in rib pattern. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and knitted along the armhole edge, work color pattern in the round, and finish with a rib edge.
