Río de los Brazos de Dios, or “The River of the Arms of God,” travels 1,280 miles from its source, Blackwater Draw, in New Mexico, to its terminus at the Gulf of Mexico and was originally named by early Spanish explorers in the 1700s. Finding Río de los Brazos de Dios somewhat of a mouthful, today it is called the Brazos River and it runs through my neck of the woods in Texas. One of the large major rivers in Texas, the Brazos travels past three major universities and by major metropolitan areas. Anyone familiar with the Brazos River knows that at any given time, the brown may actually represent the river and the blue may represent the vast wide Texas sky, as the Brazos River swells, churns, and recedes greatly with any flash-torrential Texas downpour or any searing Texas drought.

So, whether y’all are fixin’ to choose a brown river or a blue river, if you don’t like the weather, you might could wait a minute, and, bless your heart, it could just as easily go the other way.
